Attention New Fairfield Voters
Statement on voter registrations In the mail from the office of the Registrars of Voters:
Our office has received many inquiries about the voter registration mailings that have been going out to different household across New Fairfield. There are many nonprofit and civic engagement groups that are trying to advocate for higher voter turnout especially because it is a presidential election cycle. One of the ways they do this is by sending out voter registration cards to houses that may have Names associated with it that haven't voted in a long time.
These letters are not coming from the town of New Fairfield or the Secretary of State. Do not be alarmed if you receive one of these letters. Treat them as a reminder to check on your voter registration. One of the registrars of voters received one of these Letters as well to her maiden name. If you want to check out your voter registration status, please feel free to go to the Registrar of Voters Page on the newfairfield.org website and follow the link to check online.
We understand how people feel going into a presidential election and these letters can be alarming. The Registrars of Voters want you to know that we take all registrations to vote, changes to current voter registrations, and the entire election process seriously. We follow the proper procedures and scrutiny to ensure the safety and security of our town's elections.
Thank you
The Registrars of Voters
