Department Profile

New Fairfield Social Services provides assistance to individuals and families of all ages who reside in the community. The department offers direct services and referrals to residents while assisting individuals in applying for local, federal and state social service programs. The goal of the department is to help individuals obtain their basic needs while providing support to strengthen self sufficiency and independence.

Policy for Donations

Social Services cannot accept donations of clothing, toys, household items and furniture.

 The following organizations may accept these items:

  • Community Thrift Shop
  • Congregational Church Thrift Shop (clothing)
  • New Fairfield Sherman Animal Welfare (clothing)
  • Goodwill
