Online Tax Payments
As part of our commitment to provide citizens with efficient convenient service, the Town of New Fairfield taxpayers may pay their tax bills online by either credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) or electronically (echeck) using your checking or savings account. To pay by card the fee is 2.5%. To pay by echeck the fee is $1.25. When paying by echeck, please enter your account and routing numbers carefully to avoid the payment being rejected (account not found), which will result in additional bank fees to your tax bill.
If you pay through the online tax service today, the Tax Collector's Office will update your account with the payment information on the following business day. It will take a minimum of two business days for the DMV registration hold to be released. If you are in need of a quicker release, please contact the office about payment options.
OTHER TAX PAYMENT OPTIONS:
PAY BY MAIL
Office of the Tax Collector, 4 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT 06812
If a receipt is desired, a self addressed stamped envelope must also be sent with your payment.
When mailing your payment, please be aware that the US Postal Service postmark determines timely payments.
Warning about electronic bill payment / telephone bill pay services: These services may not mail your payment when you expect them to! You assume the risk of your payment arriving late if you choose to use these services. These payments come to us without a postmark, and because of this, they must be RECEIVED BY US before the last day to pay in order to be considered timely. Any payment received by mail after the deadline is considered late and will be charged statutory interest unless a legible timely postmark is stamped on the envelope. We DO NOT recommend using this option.
